In every stage of life, pressure and stress are all around us. If you are a parent with a child faced with GCSE exams, this time of year can be especially difficult for them because of having that extra pressure while preparing for it. Kinesiology can help keep your child to be more focused, retain information and stay on top of the pressure.

Without such techniques, a lack of sleep, migraines, and irritability are just a few side effects that we may experience.

Here are 7 well-being tips that can fight against the stresses in your life.

  • Exercise – Walking, running or doing any kind of exercise boosts serotonin and dopamine levels in our brains, making us feel more relaxed and positive about life. It will also reduce physical tension within our bodies – a great, natural de-stressor.

  • Sleep Well – It might be easier said than done, but getting at least 7-8 hours of sleep every night is essential for our long-term health. Avoiding using computers or smartphones for 1 hour before bed so you can unwind properly. Hot showers are another good way to relax the body and prepare for sleep.

  • Have A Good Diet – Eating sugar and fatty, junk food is a sure-fire way to cause excess stress – sugar promotes obesity and inflammation. Try and increase your intake of fruit, vegetables, and whole grains like oats. If you are short on time, smoothies are an excellent way to get more fruit and veg in a single drink.

  • Avoid Caffeine & Alcohol – In the short term, caffeine and alcohol may make us feel better, but eventually, they cause internal stress and fatigue. During periods of pressure, choosing to drink water or herbal teas like peppermint are a better solution.

  • The Right Mindset – Worries can be very destabilising to our lives, and the more we focus on our worries the more they stress us out. Break this vicious cycle by learning to meditate or having a ‘positive 5 minutes’ every day, where you think only about the positives of life.

  • Breathe Deeply – The oldest techniques are often the most powerful. During times of stress, go outside and breathe deeply. It is likely you will feel much of the pressure begin to melt away.

  • Endocrine Boost – Using Kinesiology, it is possible to identify the areas where stress is affecting the glandular system. Holistic techniques can then be used to restore a sense of calm and reinvigorate the body (message me if you would like further details).
